GPS devices for autistic students raise concerns for local educators
Kristy Rothe knows her son, who has autism, can get out of school and wander when stressed. It is a fear that is partially alleviated by the AngelSense GPS device that he wears every day. But local districts are concerned that the device, which also allows a parent to listen to the child’s surroundings, violates the privacy rights of teachers and students, and schools are crafting policies to address the matter.

He was previously a breaking news reporter for the Mansfield News Journal in Mansfield, OH.

While in college at Ashland University, he was the Senior Reporter for The Collegian, Ashland University's award-winning weekly newspaper.

He interned at The Columbus Dispatch, in Columbus, Ohio, where he covered the surrounding suburbs, as well as local and county government.

He was the managing editor of The Collegian from May 2014-May 2015, when he won the Ohio Newspaper Association's Best In-Depth Reporting award.

Zack graduated in May, 2016 with majors in Digital Media Journalism and Political Science.
